The 2021 European Rugby Champions Cup was the 8th season of the premier club rugby competition in Europe. It replaced the Heineken Cup. There were 2 pools of 12 teams. There were 4 rounds of pool play, with each team playing home and away against 2 teams not from the same domestic league. Qualification was based on team positions in their respective domestic leagues and the Pro 14. The top 8 teams from each pool will qualify for the round of 16. This was a 2 match, home and away series with the winners moving on to Quarter-Finals. The next 3 teams in each pool joined 10 teams from the European Challenge Cup and played a round of 16 in that competition. This was a knock-out format through to the final. |

* The Bristol Bears v Scarlets match was cancelled after the Scarlets team was unable to put a team forward to play. This was due to welfare concerns after the players had been in a 10 day quarantine following the trip to South Africa. The Bristol Bears were awarded a 28-0 bonus point win.
The match between Montpellier and Leinster was cancelled due to positive COVID-19 tests in the Leinster team. Montpellier were awarded a 28-0 bonus point win.
The match between Racing92 and Ospreys was cancelled due to positive COVID-19 tests in the Ospreys team. Racing 92 were awarded a 28-0 bonus point win.
A number of matches involving French teams were postponed following travel restriction introduced by the French government. These matches were recorded as 0-0 draws and each team received 2 points.
