In 2021 SA Rugby set up a competition for 8 provincial teams to provide a high level of rugby as a preparation for the coming season that would include the Rainbow Cup and the British & Irish Lions tour and the Springbok's international matches. The 8 teams were split into 2 pools and will play cross pool games to allow for 4 matches for each team. The EP Elephants joined the 7 teams from the Currie Cup to make up the 8 teams. |
